I'm going to live
Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 6:57PM My exams are over. I’ve returned from a two-week sojourn in North Cyprus, tanned, happy and hungover. And I’ve got some exciting news.
In September, I will be moving to the beautiful city of Bath. This will be the first time I’ve ever lived without my parents, so it’s all a little intimidating. Luckily, I’ve arranged to share a flat with a good friend of mine and a talented designer, Lewis King, so at least I’ll know someone. I’ll also be able to geek out with someone on a regular basis!
I’ve landed a great job working for a fantastic company. From September, I’m the CTO of VIA. VIA is a simple and beautiful way to create, print and share announcements that go with life’s important events. We’re a small, well funded start-up and we’re on the look out to work with some talented people, so if you’re interested in working with us, shoot me an email.
I’m really going to make an effort with Sparkplugs now. The ExpressionEngine community is so fantastic, and my lack of decent support, updates and communication is really letting you down. For that, I apologise. Expect a much more concerted effort in the future.
My day job notwithstanding, I now have much more free time and I really want to start writing more. I love blogging, and I certainly don’t do enough of it. I also adore writing music and songs. Finally, I want to work on more performance poetry and perhaps go to a few open-mic nights in Bath.
I’m so excited by the prospect of life. I want to work, travel, meet a whole new group of people, flirt with pretty girls, make friends with good guys, listen to great music, cook delicious food, make money and make love. I need action. My mind is stagnating here in my comfortable life in a quiet, middle-class village on the outskirts of Cambridge.
I’m going to live, and I cannot be more enthused about it.
